The definitive IMSA racing app
IMSA is the official racing mobile app for the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge race weekend. Unlike CSR Racing and Formula One Championship, this is not a racing game. Instead, it is a live race streaming app for fans of the sport.
Launched by the International Motor Sports Association at the 2018 Acura Sports Car Challenge in Ohio, IMSA is a free racing app available on Apple Store for MacOS and iOS devices, as well as on Google Play for Android users. It features live racing footage, radio commentary, timing, and scoring. It boasts social media support, alerts, and notifications.
Who can use it?
The official IMSA iOS app is available to iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, and Mac users aged 12+. It features live commentary and links to event organizers’ websites for in-app and web ticket purchases. Though IMSA races are primarily watched by North American sportscar enthusiasts, the IMSA app’s live stream viewership is global.
What does it do?
Users sign in via Facebook, Twitter, Apple, or email and select their favorite manufacturers to set up their profiles. It displays races and results lists with daily sessions, resources, and ticket buying options, lists of drivers, their profiles, bios, and stats for Facebook sharing, and team highlights with Twitter posting and URL sharing.
What’s special about it?
The IMSA race app uses a ‘live reload’ feature that shows results in real time on a user-friendly web-style UI. Race streaming comes with in-car cameras, IMSA Radio commentary with input from John Hindhaugh, timing and scoring, and real-time session results. Users also enjoy video library access, alerts, and push notifications.
Your race day companion
This live IMSA race app comes with tons of up-to-date information that’s never locked behind paywalls. Still, there’s some room for improvement (e.g., sort scoring by class).
